Sustainability
At Kaafu, we believe that how a piece is created is just as important as the piece itself.
The brand was born from a desire to create something meaningful, with a focus on quality, attention to detail and a more conscious approach to fashion. For this reason, we strive to make responsible choices throughout the entire process, from material selection to production and packaging.
We embrace a slow fashion approach, based on smaller-scale production, limited quantities and local manufacturing. This allows us to reduce waste, maintain close control over quality and give each piece the attention it deserves from the very beginning.
Whenever possible, we prioritise recycled and recyclable materials. Our pieces are developed using high-quality fabrics, including fabrics made with regenerated ECONYL® nylon, created from recovered waste such as discarded fishing nets and other materials that might otherwise remain in the environment.
Our choice of ECONYL® goes beyond the origin of the raw material. This regenerated fibre offers the same quality, durability, elasticity and comfort as conventional nylon, while maintaining the performance required for long-lasting swimwear. The result is a collection designed to accompany many summers without compromising on fit, comfort or durability.
However, we believe sustainability extends beyond the choice of materials. It is also reflected in the way we produce, package and help extend the life of each piece.
Every detail is designed with intention. Swimsuits and bikinis are packaged in reusable cotton pouches, designed to accompany the pieces long after their purchase. Product tags are made from recycled cotton, and orders are shipped in recycled and recyclable coex envelopes.
Rather than following trends, we aim to create pieces that can be worn and appreciated for many summers to come. Producing less, choosing better materials and creating with intention are principles that continue to guide every decision.
At Kaafu, sustainability is not a final destination, but an ongoing commitment to doing better in a more conscious and responsible way.
